What is Kenopsia? n. the eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that’s usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet—a school hallway in the evening, an unlit office on the weekend, vacant fairgrounds—an emotional afterimage that makes it seem not just empty but hyper-empty, with a total population in the negative, who are so conspicuously absent they glow like neon signs.

Meet Jason and Jess, a dynamic duo of siblings with an insatiable passion for exploring abandoned sites predominantly scattered along the picturesque East Coast. Their adventures unfold through a captivating blend of photography and video, all crafted to share their enthralling journeys with you.
Jason's fascination with abandoned structures has deep roots, as he's long been entranced by the mysteries surrounding these forgotten places. He perpetually ponders the stories behind each site's abandonment, and in 2020, fate intervened. During what might have appeared to be an ordinary conversation, Jess spontaneously decided to join her brother on his exploratory quests. In May of that same year, their partnership solidified, and they embarked on their inaugural adventure as a united team.
Initially, they envisioned sporadic excursions—perhaps venturing out every other month or, at most, a few times monthly. However, the allure of discovery quickly consumed them. Their intermittent outings soon transformed into a weekly ritual, and in the blink of an eye, Kenopsia Explorers was born, complete with its very own YouTube channel. Each week, they eagerly set forth to explore new, increasingly captivating locales, perpetually striving to outdo their previous escapades.
The thrill of traversing places that remain hidden from the majority of the world exhilarates them, and they relish the opportunity to share these remarkable experiences with their devoted audience.
Despite their demanding day-to-day lives—Jason as a skilled network engineer and Jess as a dedicated restaurant manager and mother—they willingly step away from their routines to bring you the wonders of their urban exploration adventures.
The Lehigh Valley Dairy, with its distinctive Art Deco façade, was born in tough times and has been a feature of the local landscape since 1934. Once called ‘America’s Most Beautiful Dairy, ' it has been abandoned since 1989. Join us as we venture inside to see what remains before demolition begins.
